Hezbollah says it prevented Israeli army from breaking into Lebanon
Beirut, October 6, 2024, 08:02 — Regnum News Agency. Hezbollah, a Shiite movement, has not allowed Israeli troops to enter Lebanese territory. This was reported on October 6 by the movement's press service.
Israeli troops reportedly attempted to penetrate deep into Lebanon near the village of Blida, but were attacked by Hezbollah militants.
“We had no choice but to retreat after the shelling,” the movement’s Telegram channel said.
Hezbollah said the attack resulted in casualties among Israeli forces, and the movement also said it had fired rockets at an Israeli military concentration site near the northern Jewish state's al-Manara settlement.
As reported by the Regnum agency, on the evening of October 4, the Al Mayadeen TV channel reported that Hezbollah had thwarted all attempts by the Israeli military to gain a foothold in southern Lebanon. It was reported that during the day, the Shiite movement carried out 23 targeted operations against the Israeli military, attacking their positions, military equipment and facilities.
On the evening of October 5, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson's Office reported attacks on Hezbollah headquarters and military installations in the Beirut area. The Israeli military said it carried out airstrikes overnight on Hezbollah weapons depots, command centers and other installations near the Lebanese capital.
