Average period of car ownership has increased in St. Petersburg
The average period of car ownership in St. Petersburg has increased to 5-6 years due to high prices, Delovoy Peterburg reports, citing data from the company Avtomarketer.
According to the results of January-September, cars older than 12 years were most often relisted on the secondary market of the northern capital. At the same time, the resale of new cars up to 3 years old decreased by a third (34%), to 8 thousand units.
The share of new used cars in the overall city car market has fallen from 9% to 6% since the beginning of the year. The most popular brand of passenger cars in this segment was the Russian Lada. In addition, the top five leaders included the Chinese Haval, Geely, Chery and the Korean car brand Kia.
A similar trend is observed throughout Russia. Experts note that this trend has developed primarily due to high prices for new cars. The average price of used cars in Russia at the end of September was 14.75 million rubles, and new ones - 3.03 million rubles.
