Over the first nine months of 2024, alcohol sales in the region increased by 15.9%.

In Kuban, 310 million liters of alcoholic beverages were sold in retail stores from January to September 2024. Of these, 79 million liters (25%) were sold by local producers.

"Compared to the same period last year, retail sales of alcoholic beverages increased by 15.9%," the press service of the Agency for Consumer Affairs and Alcohol Market Regulation reported.

The department noted that the data is related to the legalization of the retail alcohol market and the increase in the number of tourists in the region.

Beer and beer drinks are the most consumed in Kuban. The second is still wine, and the third is strong alcohol.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Ministry of Finance proposed raising the minimum retail price for strong alcohol from January 1, 2025.
