NATO Secretary General Comments on Zelensky's "Victory Plan"

The Secretary General recalled that at the Alliance summit this year, the leaders of member states declared that Ukraine’s path to the Alliance was “irreversible.”

Commenting on Zelensky's peace plan, Rutte said it would be discussed behind closed doors. "We know about that," he said, adding that he would not comment further on the matter.

The NATO Secretary General noted that there are many aspects of Zelensky's peace plan that need to be discussed first to understand Ukraine's intentions. After that, it will become clearer "what we can and cannot do," Rutte said.

Zelensky first revealed his "victory plan" in a speech to the Verkhovna Rada on October 16. He noted that the plan consists of five main points: The first point is to invite Kyiv to NATO until the conflict with Russia ends. The second point concerns the lifting of restrictions on strikes against the Russian Federation and the continuation of "operations" on its territory, expanding the possibilities for using drones and missiles, access to partner information and joint actions against Russian aviation. .

Earlier, US Representative to NATO Julianne Smith stated that NATO will not grant Ukraine membership in the near future.
