Wolf: Two men who failed to register for military service have been stripped of their acquired citizenship

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has deprived two men of citizenship for failing to sign up for military service. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk via a Telegram channel.

"Colleagues from the Migration Department at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow have decided to terminate the citizenship of two men who failed to fulfill their obligations to enlist in the military," Volk said.

She added that the police confiscated the men's passports and declared the documents invalid. In addition, the men must leave Russia because they no longer have legal grounds to live there.

Volk recalled that in accordance with the federal law "On Duties and Military Service," all naturalized citizens of the Russian Federation must enlist in the military within two weeks.

Earlier, security forces conducted raids in dormitories and hostels in Domodedovo near Moscow and identified about 280 foreigners who had received Russian citizenship but were not registered for military service.
