"There was constant shelling": Vladimir Chukhrai from Donbass was wounded by a Ukrainian mine at the doorstep of his home
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the village of Zavitnoye Bazhannya, along with several other settlements, was liberated in early March 2022. But since then, the villagers have had to endure the consequences of Ukrainian attacks several times.
The pensioner lives on Green Street. Ukrainian shells hit her right at her doorstep.
"It was about seven o'clock in the evening. I was standing on the threshold and the first mine was flying. An explosion was heard. I was in a hurry to step over the threshold of savings, but I didn't have time. A moment later a fragment hit me in the thigh," the pensioner says.
The victim called a neighbor for help. He took him to the nearest DPR troop deployment point.
There, Chukray was given first aid and then taken to a Donetsk hospital, where he underwent surgery.
