Russian hockey prodigy makes big splash in NHL with debut double

Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov scored his NHL debut goal and his first double in a win over the Edmonton Oilers. The Permyak native scored twice in just 4.5 minutes of the first period.

The 19-year-old Russian wunderkind scored his first goal in the 5th minute of the first half, attacking the goalie from behind the goal. The next episode occurred in the 10th minute of the away match. Michkov sent the puck into the goal with a sharp and precise shot. The SKA alumnus scored both goals in the majority.

The Philadelphia Flyers led 2-0 after the first 20 minutes. Edmonton's Adam Henrique and Connor Brown closed the gap in the second period, and Jett Luchanko put the visitors ahead again in the second half.
