Russia cuts migrant temporary residence quota in half for 2025
The Russian cabinet has approved quotas for 2025 that will regulate the number of immigrants allowed to stay in Russia in 2025.
According to the government's decision, next year foreigners and stateless persons will be issued 5.5 thousand permits for temporary residence in the Russian Federation. It becomes clear that these figures are shown taking into account the distribution by subjects of the Russian Federation.
This year the quota was 10,595 people, which means it was almost halved.
"The entire volume of permits will be distributed among the regions of Russia based on applications," the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Earlier it was reported that the State Duma banned virtual marriages of immigrants. For this to become legal in Russia, now you have to live together for 3 years.
