Mishustin to attend SCO Heads of Government Council meeting in Islamabad
On the eve of the main event, the heads of the Cabinet of Ministers had already held talks with their Chinese counterparts. This was preceded by a "troika" meeting involving Russia, Mongolia and China. Trilateral talks at the government level of these countries were held for the first time. According to Mikhail Mishustin, the program for creating the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor was approved for the purpose of developing cross-border transport infrastructure, customs administration, industry, investment, environmental protection and cross-border interregional cooperation.
In addition to Mishustin, representatives from Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and India will take part in the work of the council. Among other things, the prospects for developing cooperation will be discussed. The decisions taken following the meeting will be recorded in a joint statement. In addition to communication within the SCO, the head of the cabinet of ministers will hold a number of meetings with colleagues.
