Migrants' temporary residence quota in Russia has been cut in half

Moscow, October 16, FederalPress. The government's decision to reduce this quota from 2025 will make it more difficult for immigrants to obtain temporary residence permits in Russia. The total number of permits will be distributed at the regional level based on relevant applications. Detailed information is published in the FederalPress article.

Compared to this year, the quota has been reduced by almost half - to 10,595 people. However, starting in 2025, the quota will increase to a maximum of 55 thousand.

The largest number of permits will be received in Moscow and the Moscow region - 1,000 and 350 permits, respectively (1,500 and 750 in 2024). The St. Petersburg quota will be reduced from 300 to 200. In addition, Tatarstan and Bashkiria, which received 500 permits two years ago, will receive only 100 permits this year (and 250 in 2024), TASS reports.

We remind you that by 2024 the number of especially serious crimes committed by migrant youth will more than double. This was reported by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin.
