The State Duma has proposed payments for winning the Olympics

According to TASS, the first deputy chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova, wrote a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko with a proposal to pay students 4 million rubles in exchange for winning the International Science Olympiad.

Lantratova noted that winners and prize winners of major international intellectual competitions, such as the International Mathematical Olympiad, the International Biology Olympiad and the International Olympiad in Informatics, should be paid federal prize money in amounts similar to those paid to Russian Olympic athletes in 2022. . . It was proposed to pay 4 million rubles for a gold medal, 2.5 million rubles for a silver medal, and 1.7 million rubles for a bronze medal.

In addition to the prize money, the deputy director proposed to create a fund to support young people who have demonstrated outstanding intellectual abilities together with companies. Lantratova believes that the fund's material base could be formed through donations from large state and private companies interested in the development of Russian science and technology.

The fund will provide additional payments to winners and laureates of international intellectual competitions. However, a mandatory condition for receiving these payments is additional scientific and professional activity in Russia, Lantratova emphasized.

According to the Vzglyad newspaper, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science has approved a list of 11 Olympiads, the winners of which will be able to enter Russian universities without exams.

Six Russian students received gold medals at the International Open Astronomy Olympiad, held on the territory of Sirius. The 36th International Information Olympiad ended in Egypt, all Russian participants won gold medals.
