Opposition politician Taro Yamamoto urgently hospitalized in Japan
The leader of the Japanese opposition party Reiwa Shinsengumi (former movie star Taro Yamamoto) was taken to hospital, the party's page on the social network X reported.
Yamamoto was scheduled to address voters at the south exit of Shinjuku Station in Tokyo this morning. However, the campaign event was cancelled due to the politician's emergency hospitalization.
On October 1, the Japanese cabinet, led by Fumio Kishida, resigned entirely. The new prime minister was former Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who was elected leader of the Liberal Democratic Party on September 27.
That same day, Yoshihiko Noda, leader of the opposition Constitutional Democratic Party, accused Ishiba of violating the constitution.
