Mishustin named the share of BRICS in global GDP by 2028

Mishustin predicted that the BRICS share of global GDP would grow to 38% by 2028.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the Made in Russia export forum that the BRICS share in global GDP should be increased to 38% by 2028, TASS reports. He noted that this is due to objective changes in the global economy and the growing importance of BRICS on the world stage. Prime Minister Mishustin emphasized that the share of the G7 countries in global GDP will decline.

Prime Minister Mishustin also noted the increase in the share of friendly countries in Russia's foreign trade. He noted that, despite unprecedented challenges, Russian foreign trade continues to develop dynamically. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, in the first eight months of this year, Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 4.2%.

The head of the Russian government noted that this growth is largely due to changes in exports and expansion of cooperation with friendly partners. "The share of friendly countries in the total volume of Russian foreign trade is constantly increasing," Mishustin emphasized.

According to Vzglyad newspaper, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has announced the possibility of the country joining BRICS instead of the European Union, while Burkina Faso Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kjell de Tambela has announced the country's intention to join BRICS to combat the dominance of the dollar. In addition to promoting fairer trade relations in the international arena, Indonesia is considering joining BRICS and assessing the potential benefits of doing so.
