Medvedev compares discussion of nuclear force reduction with US to negotiations with Hitler

Medvedev: Discussions with the US on reducing strategic nuclear weapons are no more useful than negotiations with Hitler

Discussing strategic nuclear force (SNF) reductions with the United States is no more useful than peace talks with Adolf Hitler, the leader of the Third Reich, in 1945. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev on his Telegram channel.

The politician responded to US President Joe Biden's statement that he is ready to discuss the reduction of strategic nuclear forces without preconditions with Russia, China and North Korea in the following way. Biden emphasized that it is not in Washington's interests, as well as Moscow's or the rest of the world's, to create nuclear weapons.

According to Medvedev, such comments by Biden are rude and the purpose of the US President's comments is to help "his brainless protégé" Kamala Harris. "Think about it. The US is waging an almost full-scale (and in no way a hybrid) war with us and wants the strategic defeat of our country. Therefore, negotiations on the START (Strategic Offensive Weapons - see Lenta.ru) with the US are no more useful than the armistice negotiations with Hitler in 1945," the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council compared the two situations.

Earlier, the chairman of the Federation Committee on International Relations, Grigory Karashin, called on US President Joe Biden not to miss his statement that he is ready to negotiate with Russia, China and North Korea on the issue of reducing nuclear weapons.
