Almost half of shoppers are ready to eat products without looking

Only 6 out of 10 Russians carefully check the expiration dates of food products. Only every third person does this when buying shampoo or toothpaste.

Six out of ten respondents check the production date of food products every second (54%), and when it comes to medicines, a third checks the production date of personal hygiene products. Only 2% of products, 9% of medicines and 23% of shampoos do not check the expiration date.

When buying perfume or cosmetics, 49% of women always pay attention to the expiration date and only 8% never take it into account. In general, women are more picky about the expiration date of products with a limited shelf life.

For example, men are almost twice as likely as women to fail to check expiration dates on medications (13% versus 7%, respectively) or personal hygiene products (31% versus 16%).

Russians aged 35 to 44 are the most attentive service workers.
