Three "USSR citizens" arrested in Kuzbass for attacking traffic police officer

In the city of Prokofyevsk, three members of the “Citizens of the Soviet Union” movement, which is considered extremist and banned in Russia, have been detained on suspicion of attacking a traffic police inspector.

The incident occurred in Novokuznetsk at the end of September. According to the FSB Directorate for Kuzbass, there were three residents of Prokopyevsk on the street. In the 1940s, a Komsomol member "left the scene of the crime after using violence against traffic police officers in order to obstruct the work of law enforcement agencies." When the attackers were detained, a search of their home revealed that all three were members of the "Citizens of the Soviet Union" movement and considered themselves government officials.

All three were detained and charged with "organizing the activities of extremist organizations" and "using violence and insulting government officials."
