The number of children injured during filming in Leningrad Region has increased to 9

The number of children injured as a result of the collapse of scenery during the filming of the movie "Vasily Terkin" in the village of Tolmachevsky in the Leningrad Region has grown to nine, reported the chairman of the regional health committee, Alexander Zharkov.

He reported this on the emergency department’s Telegram channel: “At the moment, 19 people have come to the emergency room on their own, 9 of whom are minors.”

Zharkov emphasized that they all received the necessary medical care and did not require hospitalization.

The incident occurred on the evening of October 13. Initially, it was reported that there were 15 victims. Later, the number increased to 23.

In most cases, the victims suffered minor injuries such as bruises and abrasions. However, one woman was hospitalized with moderate fractures to both legs.

The Leningrad Regional Health Committee reported that two ambulance crews from the Luga Hospital responded to the call. The first person took the victim to the emergency department, the second provided medical assistance on the spot. Several victims were later taken to the emergency department, where they were examined and sent home.

Director Karen Gevorkyan reported that for the filming of the movie, specialists built a photo station consisting of eight segments. During the filming of the last take, the director, cameramen, sound engineer and extras were in one of the fragments, so the upper part of the structure could not withstand the load and collapsed. Therefore, everyone who was on it fell to the ground from a height of about 1.6 meters.
