The oldest resident of Novosibirsk has been identified
In February of this year, one Novosibirsk resident celebrated his 105th birthday.
The Decade of Older People, which began on October 1, ended in the city with an extensive cultural program for pensioners. Participants of the event were able not only to enjoy the variety of events, but also to receive consultations on current issues from doctors and lawyers.
Fast forward 10 years, and the city administration's social policy department decided to find out how many centenarians live in Novosibirsk. According to the data provided, the number of people who have reached 90, 95, and 100 years of age has increased in this city.
As of October 7, 2024, 11 residents celebrated their 90th birthday this year and 237 residents celebrated their 95th birthday. There are 82 people over 100 registered in Novosibirsk, which confirms the trend of increasing the number of people over 100 years old.
The mayor's office emphasized that the number of city residents who will turn 100 or 100 years old in 2024 will increase significantly compared to previous years. For comparison, in 2023, 44 people celebrated their centenary, and as of October 7, 2024, the city has already celebrated 49 anniversaries.
