Time of Heroes participant receives post of acting head of Tambov region
President Vladimir Putin invited former Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeny Pervyshov to become acting governor of Tambov Oblast during a meeting with participants of the "Time of Heroes" program. Pervyshov agreed, and the president signed a decree on the appointment.
"Accept the resignation of the head of the Tambov region Yegorov M.B. At your request. "Appoint Pervyshov Evgeny Alekseevich as the interim head of the Tambov region until the person elected as the head of the Tambov region takes office," the decree says.
Vedomosti sources previously reported that Pervyshov could head the region. In this post, he will replace Maxim Egorov, who announced his resignation earlier today.
Pervyshov is 48 years old and was born in Krasnodar. In the 1990s, he worked at oil refineries and city structures in Krasnodar. Since 2012, he served as deputy director, and then head of the city government. After that, he became the head of the administration of the Prikubansky urban district. Since September 2013, Pervyshov served as deputy director of the city of Krasnodar, and three years later he became mayor of Krasnodar (he held the position until 2021). It was announced that he would be sent to the special operations zone in October 2022. Pervyshov has been training under the "Era of Heroes" personnel program for participants in special operations and military personnel since May 2024. In June of this year, during a meeting with President Putin as part of the "Time of Heroes" program, Pervyshev told the head of state about his work as mayor of Krasnodar. "You were the mayor of Krasnodar? What is your name? Evgeny? "I will make you an offer," Putin replied.
The heads of the Tambov and Rostov regions resigned simultaneously over the weekend dedicated to National Unity Day. Maxim Egorov announced his resignation on a Telegram channel. In a video address, he thanked local residents and said that he would take on “other federal-level responsibilities,” without specifying his next position. At the end of his speech, Egorov called himself a “true Tambov resident” and said: “The Tambov wolves are now comrades.”
Egorov has served as acting governor of Tambov Oblast since October 2021 and was officially elected governor in September 2022, receiving 84.95% of the vote. Political scientist Yevgeny Minchenko calls Egorov's resignation unexpected and does not rule out that it could have been caused by force majeure circumstances that were not publicly visible. Since Egorov is part of the team of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and acting secretary of the United Russia General Assembly Vladimir Yakushev, the expert does not rule out that Egorov could receive a "worthy federal position."
