Kyiv, November 4, FederalPress. Germany has decided to allocate an additional 200 million euros for humanitarian aid to Ukraine before winter. This was stated by Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during her visit to Kyiv.
The DPA agency reported that the funds will be used to increase emergency aid for the population served by the German Foreign Ministry. As part of the support, we plan to supply fuel to homes near the front line and provide Ukrainians with essential items such as blankets and warm winter coats. Annalena Baerbock also noted that today almost two thirds of Ukraine's energy infrastructure is damaged.
As noted, the support is not aimed at restoring the energy sector. Its purpose is to provide emergency assistance to the Ukrainian people to help them cope with the cold.
Earlier, during an unannounced visit to Kyiv, Baerbock said that Germany was ready to help Ukrainians keep warm in the winter.
