Leningrad Zoo Shows "Epic Battle" Between Pallas' Cat Shu and Boxes of Apples
Pallas's cat Shu from the Leningrad Zoo plays with a cardboard box filled with apples.
Pallas's cat Shu, who lives in the Leningrad Zoo, "attacked" a box of apples.
On November 4, the Leningrad Zoo press service published an interesting video featuring members of the feline family. The staff joked that visitors call Shu a "cute kitty" because he is actually "the most ferocious predator" living in the zoo.
"Something got in his way today... A cardboard box - the most powerful seducer of all the cats on the planet. (Inside it also lies an apple - an "ally". Shu did not succumb to the provocation and turned away from his "enemy". He was the first to attack. "At this moment, everyone held their breath. Who will win this epic battle?"
The published video shows that before the attack, the Pallas's cat sniffed the "food" carefully and then began to drag the box from side to side, apparently trying to get its contents. As a result, Shu grabbed the "enemy" with his teeth and created several circles around the enclosure.
Let me remind you that Shu was born in the Leningrad Zoo. The zoo staff called this event a real victory for the predatory mammals department. The puppy will be named in August 2023. Shu got his name because he hissed very funny at people who came to visit him and his relatives.
Several days ago, binturongs named Tosh and Kala were taken to the Leningrad Zoo and filmed. The "cat bear," as the agency reports, was brought to St. Petersburg from a special center in Indonesia where these unusual tropical predators are bred.
