Consequences of the first snowfall in St. Petersburg: Serious accidents with buses, adults and children break their arms and legs on icy roads
The city's parking management center announced that they are temporarily suspending electric kickboard rental services. The first snow and ice are to blame. Forecasters expect that tomorrow, November 5, the temperature will remain slightly below zero, so kicksharing will be temporarily suspended. But this is the least of the consequences that the bad weather has brought to the city and the Leningrad Region.
The epicenter of the accident was the Tosnensky District. On Sunday, November 3, at about 9:20 p.m., a minibus crashed into a ditch. There were 7 people inside. One 74-year-old passenger died, two were injured and hospitalized. According to the head of the Russian Interior Ministry Department for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the driver lost control and skidded. Judging by the photos from the scene, the road between Kempolovo and Shapki was covered with snow.
Another serious accident occurred in Tosno. A 38-year-old man driving a Kia flew into the oncoming lane and collided with a Nissan Atlant. In the passenger seat of the "Korean" were two 10-year-old boys. And in the "Nissan" was a 43-year-old man with three daughters. The police drew up three administrative reports on the Kia driver and suspect that he was driving drunk.
As a result of the accident, the Kia driver and his son were hospitalized in serious condition, and the Nissan driver and his 9-year-old daughter are in critical condition, the National Police Agency press service reported.
And in Nikolskoye, another bus flew into a ditch. The scene of the accident was filmed on the black box of a passing car. There were no official reports of casualties.
Meanwhile, November 4 is also a day when many traffic accidents occur. On the Road of Life, a passenger car crashed into a fence, and at the corner of Institutskaya and 2-ya Murinskogo streets, a Skoda and a Matiz collided.
Not only tires, but also the soles of city residents' shoes are becoming slippery. It is reported that at least five people have been injured due to the ice. For example, in Kupchino, a 33-year-old man lost control of the asphalt on Dimitrova Street. He slipped, fell and broke his ankle. Now he wears a cast and leads a predominantly sedentary lifestyle.
"In the Kalininsky District, a 30-year-old man fell face down on the ground and received lacerations and bruises on his face and shoulders," a source from "Operativnoye Prikrytie" reports. - A woman fell on the ice on Sampsonievsky Prospekt and is being examined. In Tosno, a 68-year-old pensioner fell on the ice and broke his right arm. And in Vyborg, a 12-year-old boy fell on black ice and hit his head.
By the way, the roads and sidewalks of St. Petersburg were treated with salt as a preventative measure. And after the frost and snow, the asphalt was also sprinkled with sand. But, of course, you still have to watch your step.
