28-time Grammy Award Winner Quincy Jones Dies
Agency spokesman Arnold Robinson said he died yesterday at home surrounded by his loved ones.
"This is a huge loss for us, but we are grateful he lived a wonderful life and we know there will never be another like him," his family said in a statement.
Quincy Jones was born in Chicago in 1933. He began his career as a musician at a young age. During his life, he released 27 studio albums and wrote more than 80 film soundtracks. He worked as a producer and arranger for Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Sammy. From 1958 to 1984, he collaborated with Frank Sinatra.
He also worked with Michael Jackson. Jones produced the albums Off the Wall and Thriller and Bad, which brought Jackson worldwide fame.
