Ukrainian to be tried in Crimea for spying for Kyiv
Ukrainian citizen Yevgeny Melnychuk is to stand trial in Crimea on charges of spying for Kyiv, the Russian prosecutor's office reported.
"The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Crimea has approved the indictment in the criminal case against 42-year-old Ukrainian citizen Yevgeny Melnichuk," the statement said.
According to the investigation, from December to October, the Ukrainians were in Crimea, where they collected data on the location of Russian troops. He passed this information to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
On October 18, the FSB reported the arrest of a Ukrainian woman on suspicion of transmitting data to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Later, during interrogation, the girl admitted that she sent data on the location of Russian troops in Ukraine.
