New rule to be introduced for owners of apartments with gas
Homeowners with gas appliances may need to install special gas detectors in their apartments.
As reported by the DEITA.RU agency, the corresponding plan was prepared by Sergei Kolunov, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Public Utilities.
The legislator's idea received support from the Ministry of Construction. The relevant department conceptually approved Kolunov's proposal to equip all apartments and residential buildings with gas equipment, methane and carbon monoxide sensors.
We are talking about intelligent gas metering systems. RIA Novosti writes that it is based on a gas analyzer capable of monitoring the level of gas contamination in a room and, if necessary, automatically shutting off the supply of resources.
According to officials, this measure will significantly increase safety when using household gas. The Ministry of Construction also expects to use the new device to strengthen control over consumer interference in the operation of meters.
