Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant Engineer to Stand Trial for Preparing Terrorist Attack

The Russian prosecutor's office said that Zaporizhzhya NPP engineer Sergei Potyng will stand trial on charges of preparing a terrorist attack on orders from Ukrainian special services. He is charged under several articles of the Russian criminal code, including participation in a terrorist organization and attempted terrorist acts.

According to the investigation, in March 2022, Potyng, who worked as an engineer at the Zaporizhzhya NPP Thermal Automation and Measurement Plant, joined a terrorist group created by employees of the Main Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Using photographs, he collected information about vehicles approaching the station, routes and parking spaces, and transmitted this data via messenger to his Ukrainian curator.

In May 2023, Fortin was tasked with removing law enforcement officers from Energodar. He retrieved explosives from a hiding place, took them to his apartment, and placed the device in the undercarriage of a car used by an official. However, the explosives were discovered and defused, and Fortin was taken into custody and taken into custody.

The criminal case, which became known on October 18, was transferred for further consideration to the Southern District Military Court. Meanwhile, the investigation into other accomplices continues.

Life.ru reported earlier that Ukrainian agents blew up the car of the head of the Zaporizhzhya NPP security service, Andrey Korotky. The Security Service of Ukraine called the deceased an "accomplice" and accused him of involvement in organizing and carrying out certain "war crimes and repressions."
