The Russian North Hut Opened in Kirov – the New Year Capital of Russia
Kirov is preparing to celebrate the main winter holiday as the New Year's capital of Russia. On this occasion, the regional government announced the opening of a unique historical complex.
The Kirov Regional Folk Museum presents huts of northern Russia. The historical composition combines authentic elements of a Russian hut. At the threshold, guests are greeted by hostesses in traditional costumes made of hand-made fabrics and bright embroidery. Inside, you can see how peasant life was built.
The complex is decorated with more than 20 paintings of northern peasant houses. These elements were placed in especially revered places of the house (doors, red corners). Most of the items were characteristic only of Vyatka peasants. For example, there is a seat (similar to a modern riding arena).
During the New Year's celebrations, various events are held in the huts of the north of Russia, including interactive events and performances. An audio guide is being developed for tours of the exhibition hall. This allows guests to immerse themselves in the life of peasants of past centuries.
