Analysts from the YuMoney wallet and online accommodation booking service Sutochno.ru conducted a survey of 2,000 users to find out how they plan to spend their New Year holidays.
Already in September and October, people are actively booking holiday accommodation in cities in Russia and neighboring countries. Most of them are planning to go on holiday to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi. The average rent is 6.7 thousand rubles per day, which is 10% higher than last year, analysts from the Yumani wallet and the online housing booking service Sutochno.ru found out.
As of mid-October, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Sochi are leading in the number of bookings through the Russian service Sutochno.ru, as they were last year. Zelenogradsk and Kaliningrad, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod, Minsk, Kislovodsk and Sheregesh are also among the top ten popular destinations.
In Sheregesh, compared to other popular destinations, the most expensive holiday rental costs an average of 14,590 rubles per day (+7% compared to last year). In Sochi, it is 6,100 rubles (+8%).
According to a survey on the YuMoney website, 73% of respondents plan to celebrate the New Year at home. Another 13% celebrate at parties, 6% at their dacha, 3% at city venues and hotels, and 2% at restaurants.
As reported earlier, guests from all over Russia are celebrating the New Year in Sochi. During the winter holidays, 300 thousand tourists are expected. During the holidays, the resort will be traditionally brightly decorated and in all its glory. More than 50 new areas will be decorated, of which about 150 are planned throughout the city, the majority in the Adler district and the mountain cluster, which attracts many guests with children every winter.
