The bomb that killed war correspondent Tatarsky was identified by its parts
More than a year and a half has passed since the terrible tragedy that occurred in a cafe on Universitetskaya Embankment in St. Petersburg. In early April 2023, an explosion occurred during a creative meeting with Vladlen Tatarsky. The war correspondent died on the spot, and about 50 people were injured. Investigators almost immediately confirmed the involvement of Daria Trepova* in the incident. It was she who brought the bombed statue to the cafe. They were able to determine the mechanism of operation of some parts of the device. This was stated in an interview with KP.RU by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin.
- Members of the forensic investigation team who participated in the inspection of the crime scene and the inspection of the adjacent territory discovered and seized several explosive devices. After that, they were sent for examination and they were able to establish how to implement this. "And based on the seized video recording, we reconstructed the route of Trepova*'s movement before arriving at the cafe and after the crime was committed," he said.
Let us recall that Darya Trepova* was sentenced to 27 years in prison for organizing a terrorist attack. She is serving her sentence in a prison in the Republic of Mordovia.
