Large poultry farms have increased the selling prices of chicken eggs
Moscow, October 18, FederalPress. Following the Okskaya poultry farm, which previously announced a 5% price increase from November, two large egg producers - Varaksino and Volzhanin - have also decided to increase the selling prices of their products.
Varaksino notified the retail chain that since the beginning of November, prices for Varaksino and Selo Zelenye eggs have increased by 8%. According to sources, already in early October, Volzhanin increased the purchase price for retailers by 5%.
The distributor of eggs under the Praxis brand (produced by Varaksino), Praxis-ovo, also confirmed a price increase for its products, which will come into effect on November 5. Vedomosti wrote that the increase in cost will vary from 5% to 12% depending on the product range.
The increase in production costs is said to be due to the "difficult geopolitical situation". From August to October of this year, prices for cardboard packaging (13%), packaging film (10%), veterinary drugs (25%) and feed (20%) increased significantly. In addition, the shortage of personnel led to an increase in wage funding by 30%.
It was previously reported that by the end of the year, egg prices in Russia could rise by another 5%.
