Guarding the Cleanliness of Primorye: Rosselkhoznadzor Identified and Called for the Elimination of a Large Landfill
Inspectors of the Primorsky Interdistrict Administration of Rosselkhoznadzor have discovered unauthorized waste in vast areas of the region, DEITA.RU reports. Mountains of garbage have formed on agricultural fields in the Khorol region.
The total area of the site itself is 26.2 hectares. Various types of garbage were dumped on an area of 63 square meters, including old slates, pieces of household appliances, bottles, used tires and other household waste. The confusion was discovered at the end of September this year. The department issued a warning that the requirements of land legislation cannot be violated by the Yaroslavl administration of the Khorolsky municipal district, which is the legal owner of the land plot.
During another inspection of the site, conducted on October 14, Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors established that the dump on the site had been cleared and there was no more waste.
Since the beginning of this year, 26 landfills have been identified on agricultural lands in Primorye, two thirds of which (18 landfills) have been eliminated by order of the department.
