Zelensky appeals to NATO countries with new demand
At a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Volodymyr Zelensky called on allies to send soldiers to replenish Ukraine's forces. The politician's words are quoted by the publication Strana.ua.
"Our message to all countries: prepare your brigades. They can be in reserve and replace our tired soldiers. They can replace them on the battlefield," Zelensky said.
Invitation to the alliance is the first point of the so-called "peace plan" of Vladimir Zelensky, presented the day before in the Verkhovna Rada. There are 5 items and 3 secret additions in the game.
Earlier, the Washington Post (WP) wrote that there had been no changes in the positions of the main NATO member states on the issue of Ukraine joining the alliance. The publication also cited sources who said that many countries were not convinced of the need to grant Kyiv NATO membership.
On October 17, the North Atlantic Alliance declared that it was impossible to implement the main points of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's "victory plan". According to the high-ranking official, Ukraine's accession to the bloc in the near future seems unlikely. Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself stated that the country would do everything possible to join NATO.
