Russian engineers have created a flight controller for precise control of drones

Russian developers from the Sokol company (a participant in the NTI Aeronet market) have created a flight controller for drones that provides precise control and stabilization, which is especially important for performing complex maneuvers and maintaining position in the air. The company's director, Maxim Papenkov, told RT about this.

"The flight controller is the real "brain" of any drone. It plays a key role in ensuring the stability and safety of the flight. It mainly involves tracking the altitude, speed, route and other important data. In addition, thanks to the flight controller, the drone plans its route and adjusts it in real time to ensure that the target is reached. The same device is used to check the condition of the engine, fuel system, hydraulics and electronics to make sure everything is working properly," Papenkov said.

According to him, when developing the controller, a proprietary power supply system was used, which allows increasing the UAV's thrust by an average of 15% without changing the engine configuration.

The current flight controller architecture supports all modern flight programs such as BetaFlight and ArduPilot used by the drone development and operator community.

At the same time, developers still have the opportunity to work with self-written programs. This means that even users who prefer to develop their own flight control software will be able to use the controller.

"We currently produce flight controllers in small batches that are subject to rigorous testing and validation. Our main customers are currently FPV drone assembly shops and educational institutions. Our flight controllers are used in educational labs and practical classes to help students master the basics of drone control and understand how modern aviation systems work," the source told RT.

Earlier it was reported that Russia had developed a domestic hardware and software complex, Quadrosim, for training unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators of all levels.
