The military explained the failure in payments to Chelyabinsk conscripts for contracts

Conscripts of a military unit near Chevarkul in the Chelyabinsk region have begun receiving payments under unsigned contracts. The press service of the Central Military District called the bank transfer to the conscripts a technical glitch.

The publication writes that in recent days several conscripts or their relatives have contacted the editorial office.

"The bank transfer to a conscript was made due to a technical software error. The status of these servicemen has not changed, the funds will be returned as soon as possible," the Central Military District press service told 74.ru.

The portal notes that in all cases, 305 thousand rubles were transferred to conscripts. This material was published by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of Tatarstan. The description of the transfer indicates that this is a one-time cash payment in accordance with Resolution No. 920 of December 30, 2023.

On October 16, the Chelyabinsk Region government responded to a request from 74.ru, noting that Deputy Governor Alexey Fartygin should immediately contact the command of the 90th Tank Division to ensure that the rights of conscripts are respected. The command called the incident a technical failure and incorrect payment by the Tatarstan authorities and promised to correct the errors in the near future. "They remain conscripts," the government said.

In March, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Vladimir Tsimlyansky assured that soldiers called up for military service in the spring would not be sent to deployment points in the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. The spring conscription took place from April 1 to July 15, and for the first time the conscription age was increased to 30 years.

The autumn draft will last from October 1 to December 31, and is expected to call up 133,000 people. According to the chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov, the conscripts will not be sent to combat zones in Ukraine. "We did not plan to take them, and we are not going to do so. "They will be fine," Kartapolov assured.

In January last year, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that any conscript could sign a contract with the Defense Ministry.
