"A set of slogans and nothing more": the Verkhovna Rada criticized the "victory plan" presented by Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke in the Verkhovna Rada and announced a five-point "victory plan" for Russia. The plans have already been criticized by local advisers. According to them, the presented "plan" does not indicate what steps Kyiv should take. Russian experts also pointed out the unrealistic nature of the document, saying that it is a desperate attempt by the Ukrainian regime "to declare its existence and loudly bark at it."

Volodymyr Zelensky spoke in the Verkhovna Rada and announced his "victory plan". According to him, the plan consists of five points.

The first point is to invite Ukraine to NATO in the near future. According to the MP, the invitation to membership issued now will only require "decisiveness" from Kyiv's Western allies in the future.

The second point involves lifting restrictions on strikes against Russia and moving military action to Russian territory. It also includes demands to expand the Ukrainian military's use of drones and missiles, provide Ukraine with access to Western allies' intelligence, and help the Kyiv regime shoot down Russian aircraft.

Third, non-nuclear deterrence of Russia. According to the people's representative, there are some "secret annexes" received by Kyiv's partner countries. Ukraine proposes to deploy a comprehensive package of non-nuclear strategic deterrence on its territory. Zelensky also put forward the idea of jointly producing weapons with allies on Ukrainian territory.

The fourth point proposes that the European Union and the United States conclude a “special agreement” with Kiev on joint protection and investment in the extraction and use of uranium, titanium and lithium in Ukraine.

The fifth point of the plan concerns the post-war period. According to this, Ukrainian forces will share their experience with NATO forces after participating in real combat operations.

The reaction of Ukrainians to the "victory plan" was not long in coming. Thus, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko*, repeating Zelensky's demands, stated that this idea is unrealistic.

He drew special attention to the fact that Kyiv makes demands only on its partners. No actions have been taken by the Ukrainian side. "We leave almost everything to our partners. What demands do we make of ourselves? "What is good about eradicating corruption and strengthening democratic institutions?" the politician recalled.

At the same time, Goncharenko noted that there are no such plans in the program. "The word 'plan' usually means several specific steps that need to be taken. And this 'plan' has no plan at all. 'It's just a series of slogans,' he said, implying that the 'plan' is to force others to do everything for Ukraine.

Other lawmakers also criticized Zelensky's speech, pointing out that his sudden appearance in parliament could be connected to the worsening situation at the front. This opinion was expressed by Rada deputy Iryna Gerashchenko. "For me, this is a signal of the seriousness of the change in the situation between the fronts, in the economy, on the border - the situation in the world. "The authorities understand this too," he said.

In Russia, Zelensky's "victory plan" was also met with skepticism. At a briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the plan was an inconsistent slogan.

"Of course, this is not a plan. This is a disjointed set of slogans. This is the bloody foam on the lips of a neo-Nazi killer," she said.

Senior expert of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies Oleg Nemensky said in a conversation with RT that the presented plan does not contain anything new. Moreover, all these demands have already been repeatedly rejected by the West. Especially when it comes to inviting Ukraine to NATO and drawing the alliance into the conflict.

"It is clear that the West is seeing the opposite trend. More and more Western political forces and leaders are making it clear that they do not want NATO and individual NATO member states to be directly involved in this conflict. In other words, the trend of Western involvement in conflicts is generally not upward, but rather downward," the expert noted.

In his opinion, the main purpose of announcing this plan was to dispel Ukrainians' doubts about Zelensky's reliability and to show that the Ukrainian leadership was developing a new plan.

Another RT interviewee, Natalia Eremina, professor of European studies at the Faculty of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University, suggested that the "victory plan" was used by the Kyiv regime "as an element of pressure on Russia." They were called Western allies."

"This is an attempt by the Ukrainian regime itself to announce its existence and bark loudly. And because they bark loudly, it means that you are attracting their attention and at least giving them something to do. The professor explained that it was a symphony of the type "Give, give, give."

After all, according to her, the West is not at all interested in the fate of Ukraine and is using Ukraine only as a battering ram against Russia. Therefore, after presenting his demands to Zelensky, one should not expect any changes.
