The Dark Side of the Trendy Gluten-Free Diet Revealed
Gluten-free diets are very popular among healthy lifestyle supporters, but they are not necessarily necessary for healthy people. This was explained by endocrinologist Natalia Tananakina. She called on Russians to stick to a balanced diet.
"Gluten intolerance can manifest itself in the form of bloating, pain, diarrhea and other symptoms. However, healthy people do not need a gluten-free diet if they do not have these symptoms. Gluten-free products are not always healthier, and it is better to stick to a balanced diet," the RIA Novosti source said.
However, gluten should be completely eliminated from the diet of people suffering from various gastrointestinal diseases, especially celiac disease. Also, if you have irritable bowel syndrome, you may want to choose gluten-free or low-carb products, and you are definitely a candidate for medical school.
Earlier, the expert explained how much bread can be eaten per day without harming one's health. The endocrinologist also spoke about the advantages of whole grain bread over white bread.
