The state may begin to regulate prices for butter
Moscow, October 16, FederalPress. The growth in prices for butter in Russia in August and September was 7.98%, reaching almost 18% since the beginning of the year. The first week of October added another 1.6% to this figure, which is already close to the threshold that could force the government to intervene in pricing.
The law allows the government to set price caps on essential goods that increase by more than 10% for 60 consecutive days, regardless of seasonal factors.
Boris Chernyshov sent a request to the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov to consider the possibility of establishing a maximum price for this product.
The deputy minister also called for monitoring prices and introducing restrictions on raw material prices if growth is confirmed, Izvestia reports.
Earlier, Russians heard about two products, the prices of which will increase by the New Year. Prices will increase by 20-30%.
