The State Duma Committee on Education did not support the draft of an alternative to the Unified State Exam

A representative of "A Just Russia" Yana Lantratova, the first deputy chairperson of the committee, reported that the Duma Committee on Education rejected the bill, which would provide the opportunity to take the Unified State Exam or the state exam on the educational program at will.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, the representative explained that the adoption of this initiative could lead to incomparability of results with examination procedures conducted in other formats. It could also lead to unequal conditions for admission to universities and would not ensure a unified approach to assessing learning outcomes.

According to Lantratova, the party "A Just Russia - For Truth" does not agree with these statements. The faction is convinced that if students are given the opportunity to choose between the Unified State Exam and the State Final Attestation, only a minority will choose the Unified State Exam.

In this regard, the party will continue to oppose this type of inspection, the deputy concluded.

It is known how many years of education most Russians want. Earlier, Vladimir Medinsky also criticized sociology as a "useless subject."
