Swiss Foreign Ministry announces cancellation of Ukrainian Prime Minister's visit
The official visit of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to Switzerland has been cancelled due to force majeure, the Swiss Foreign Ministry reported. The Foreign Ministry did not disclose any other details.
The head of the Ukrainian government was expected to arrive in Switzerland on October 16 and take part in the International Conference on Mine Action in Ukraine in Lausanne on October 17-18. Shmyhal was to speak at a joint press conference with the Federation President Viola Amherd.
Elisa Raggi, a spokesperson for the Swiss Foreign Ministry, said earlier that Bern had invited more than 50 countries and several international and regional organizations to the Lausanne conference. However, Russia was not invited.
Earlier, Shmyhal made a statement regarding the transportation of Russian gas to Europe. At the end of September, Shmyhal spoke about when Ukrainian laws would comply with EU standards.
