On October 15, a farewell ceremony for young people called up for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was held in the building of the Military Committee of the Dzerzhinsk and Kalinin Regions.
The event was attended by military commissars of the Dzerzhinsky and Kalininsky districts Sergei Grinchenko. It is reported that the conscription of young people for military service will continue in the fall. Russian citizens are called up to serve the country for a period of one year.
He also said that young people would not serve in the new merged districts.
Sib.fm quoted the director as saying: "I assure you that this will not happen. There have been no recorded cases of conscripts crossing the old borders of Russia and entering new territories."
Sergei Grinchenko also noted that there are no difficulties with conscription; Siberians arrive for service on time and in an organized manner.
"Our young people come with a high sense of patriotism and a desire to serve. "There are very few conscientious objectors, and there are people who, in the old-fashioned way, try to avoid the army," he said.
The director noted that the conditions of service in the armed forces have improved significantly today compared to 20-30 years ago. According to him, young people will serve in warm barracks with hot water, receive three meals a day and quality medical care. They will also be able to master military specialties, Grinchenko concluded.
