Suspect in businessman's SUV bombing detained in Moscow

Businessman Viktor Mishachev, a resident of the capital born in 1973, suspected of blowing up an SUV, has been detained in Moscow. This was reported to Lenta.ru by the head of the press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office, Lyudmila Nefedova.

She clarified that the suspect was detained under the coordinating role of the Moscow prosecutor's office and that the investigation is under control.

This information was confirmed by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk. She noted that the employees of the capital's criminal investigation department detained a suspect in the crime in the southwestern part of the capital.

"During operational and investigative activities, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Moscow Commander-in-Chief established the identity of the suspect and detained him at his place of residence," Volk said. She added that the man would be handed over to investigators in the near future.

On the morning of October 15, in the southwest of Moscow, a tank-SUV belonging to a Moscow businessman, co-owner of the Coyote Ugly bar chain and BEEF restaurants Viktor Mishachev (44) exploded. An unknown person left a loaded explosive device on the hood of the businessman's car.

Three people were injured in the explosion. Mishachev, his son and a neighbor were in a car parked nearby at the time. The businessman's arm was partially torn and also had an open fracture. The neighbor received a shrapnel wound to the thigh, and the child received a head wound.
