Moscow Region Resident Convicted of Daughter's Death Due to Self-Medication
As MK learned, the tragedy happened to a second-year student of hotel management at a university in the Moscow region. In November 2023, the girl fell ill. A sore throat tormented her for a week, after which her temperature rose to 37.8. Before the end of the week, the student went to the clinic, where the doctor prescribed treatment. However, he was unable to fully recover before the beginning of the week. The angry student told his mother that he would have to miss an important event with new students. In educational institutions, senior students only supervised applicants.
The parents always remembered the treatments that had helped their family. As the woman later told investigators, her daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia in the second grade. There, doctors prescribed antibiotics to help him recover. From then on, the mother began giving her daughter the medicine when her fever lasted more than three days. She also gave the antibiotic to other children, and it helped them all.
On the evening of November 14, the mother vaccinated her sick daughter. But she suddenly began to choke. The doctors who arrived began resuscitation measures, but it did not help. The girl is dead.
Experts determined that the cause of death was a severe allergic reaction. The mother who administered the drug thought that this time she had received a low-quality drug manufactured in violation of the technology.
The unfortunate woman fully admitted her sin and repented. This case was considered in a special way. The Shchyolkovo City Court sentenced her to six months of imprisonment.
