In this regard, Moskalkova sent a request to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets asking him to indicate the number of Kursk region residents who were forcibly evicted from their homes. She stated that she would raise this issue as a priority at the upcoming meeting with Lubinets.

Moskalkova also reported that since the Ukrainian army's advance, more than 112,000 people have been evacuated from Kursk Oblast, of which more than 12,000 are in temporary housing and social institutions, the rest are living with relatives. About 40,000 people refused to be evacuated and returned home.

Russian Army Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov previously reported that on the morning of August 6, Ukrainian troops launched an offensive to recapture the territory of the Kursk region, but the offensive was stopped.
