Siluanov: Pensions for working pensioners will be increased from January 2025

Pensions for working and non-working pensioners will increase by 7.3% from January 2025. This was announced by Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes.

He stressed that all social obligations are taken into account in the draft budget for the next three years.

Earlier, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the House of Representatives Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans' Affairs, stated that the indexation of Russian pensions in 2025 will be automatic and that no additional application will need to be submitted.

The deputy director said that it was initially planned to increase the payment by 4.5%, but the rate was adjusted to 7.3% due to rising inflation.

In July last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a bill to restore the indexation of pensions for working pensioners, which had been suspended since 2016. They will receive an insurance pension in the established amount and will begin receiving payments on it on December 31, 2024, without taking into account lost funds.
