Barnaul court sentences soldier to 8 years in prison for stealing combat grenades
The Barnaul Garrison Military Court sentenced soldier Alexey Vasilyev to eight years in a maximum security penal colony for stealing grenades from a missile and artillery weapons warehouse. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the 2nd Eastern Military Court.
The court found that Vasiliev stole a total of 16 fragmentation grenades and the same number of fuses from the warehouse, and then hid them in a hiding place in the military base’s military equipment park.
In addition, the man illegally received two more grenades with fuses from a friend and intended to sell them to citizens on instructions from the FSB.
In addition to imprisonment, the defendant was also sentenced to a fine of 110,000 rubles.
Before this, a case was reported in Veliky Novgorod in which a military court fined an employee of an elective branch of military service a fine of 120 thousand rubles.
