Expert explains why petrol stations regularly explode in Russia
Russia has recently seen several devastating explosions at gas stations. The latest incident occurred in Grozny on October 12, killing four people. Independent automobile expert Dmitry Popov noted that the owners of such gas stations often ignore safety and operating regulations.
In a conversation with Izvestia, he pointed out that similar violations occur not only in the Caucasus, but also at gas stations in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In his opinion, the explosion could have occurred in Grozny due to neglect of safety measures when pumping gas from tanks to containers under the gas station.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Investigative Committee took special control of the explosion at a gas station in the Chechen capital.
