Millennials are increasingly interested in canning products

MegaMarket analysts say that the most popular month for spins is September. Gazeta.Ru learned about the results of the study.

According to market data, the peak of canned goods sales is at the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. Sales this season are on average 49% higher than for the entire spring-summer period. The most popular products in this category were those of Russian manufacturers: half-liter and liter bottles, screw caps and seaming machines.

By 2024, the age of buyers has changed. Now 34% of sales are made by Russians aged 35-44. For comparison, during the same period last year, people aged 45 to 66 showed interest in canned goods.

In addition, the demand for canned goods this year was almost equal among both men and women: they accounted for 43% and 57% of purchases in this category, respectively. Also, the male part of the audience is interested in 18.9 liter bottles, which are traditionally used for preserving homemade drinks, while women are loyal to the classics. Most people buy half-liter jars.

In 2024, the largest number of items for preservation were purchased in Moscow. The top five sales regions also included St. Petersburg, Samara Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

Previously, Russians learned to reduce the cost of food products without skimping on quality.
