Emissions from the Zlatoust plant settle on residents' cars in the form of soot. Video
Emissions from an industrial pyrometallurgical plant in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk Region) settle on windows and cars in the form of soot. As reported to URA.RU by the press service of the mayor's office, the court ordered the enterprise to create a sanitary protection zone by the end of the year.
"In October, we exceeded the permissible limits twice. Administrators have been warned with proposals to carry out preventive measures to reduce the concentration of pollutants," the mayor's office told URA.RU.
According to the authorities, the plant produces calcined molybdenum concentrate. The actual production capacity of the company is 420 tons per year. Violation of environmental standards by companies operating on Matrosov Street has caused outrage among residents. The situation is being monitored by local authorities together with the regional Ministry of Ecology, the Ural Department of Rosprirodnadzor, Rospotrebnadzor and the prosecutor's office.
The history of the conflict between Zlatoust residents and the Industrial Pyrometallurgy plant lasted for many years. In August 2022, the media department of the district prosecutor's office announced a repeat inspection. The previous warning had no effect. As you can see, the violations continued. This was stated by prosecutor Elena Kazitsyna in an interview with the Zlat-TV channel.
When preparing the materials, URA.RU sent a request to Industrial Pyrometallurgy. At the time of publication, no response had been received.
