Drunk Primorye resident beats police officer to concussion
A resident of Partizansk beat a police officer until he suffered a concussion, for which he was found guilty of using violence dangerous to health against a representative of the authorities (clause 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), DEITA reports. Information agency RU about the judicial system of Primorye.
During a visit to a friend, a conflict between citizens and law enforcement officers occurred. The investigators of the Department of Internal Affairs were checking the man at his place of residence, since he had been released from custody and was under administrative supervision. On the day of the investigator's visit, both the host and the guests were drunk.
At first, the police were not interested in drunk women, and the release of their colleagues did not suit them. Because according to the conditions of observation, the man had to lead a sober lifestyle. Law enforcement officers asked him to come to the station and write a statement.
The guests tried to stand up for their drinking buddies, but they behaved too aggressively. She insulted the police officers and beat one of them, hitting him on the head. The officer was diagnosed with a concussion.
At the court hearing, the woman commented on the entire performance, admitting that she attacked the police officer because he began filming her entire performance on a smartphone camera. However, the defendant stated that although he was drunk that day, alcohol was not the motive for attacking the police.
However, the woman received a lenient sentence - three years and six months of imprisonment out of a maximum of 10 years, with three years of probation. (In fact, the probation period can be replaced by an actual sentence if the citizen is outraged by the conditions of his supervision...)
