Zelensky supported Moldova's "European choice" after Sandu's victory

Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Moldovan leader Maia Sandu on her victory in the presidential elections, RBC reports.

The presidential elections in Moldova took place on October 20. Depending on the results, a second round was scheduled. Sandu and former Prosecutor General Alexandru Stoianoglo, the candidate of the Socialist Party of Moldova, were also present.

The Ukrainian leader explained that Moldovan citizens have made a choice in favor of economic growth and social stability. A united and peaceful Europe can guarantee everyone confidence in the future, the politician concluded.

Let us recall that after the previous presidential elections, which took place in November 2020, Zelensky congratulated his colleague on his victory and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of relations between Ukraine and Moldova and the European integration of the peoples of both countries.

At that time, Sandu competed with the famous Moldovan politician Igor Dodon and received 57.74% of the votes, while his opponent received 42.26%.
